Evaluation- Question 4
What would be the audience for your media product?
My preliminary target audience would be 13-20 year olds.
I decided that because my target audience were teens that I would have to make the price of my magazine affordable to students which is why gave it the reasonable price of £2.00. I set this price as I thought it was reasonable and affordable for my target audience.
In professional magazines it is important that the company get to know their readers and what their actual interests are hence why reader profiles are made by the companies. Earlier on in my blog I demonstrated my reader profile and how it was relevant to my magazine.

Evaluation- Question 3
What kind of medua institution might distribute your media product and why?
After careful thought and research I decided that the institution that is most likely to distribute my magazine would be Bauer Media Group. I think this because my magazine is very similar to the magazines that are already distributed by the company itself such as: Kerrang! and Q. Similar to Kerrang! I feel that my company "Revive" could be more than just a magazine but in fact could possibly have a music channel featuring the music that is advertised in the magazine. As Bauer Media Group also distribute TV shows like Magic, Metro and Kiss I feel that my magazine would fit in nicely into their company. I feel like my magazine would have to compete with companies such as NME and Kerrang! as it extremely similar to both magazines and it would attract the same target audience meaning Revive could have to compete. I think that if Bauer was to distribute my product it would be increasing their profit as although they distribute Kerrang! magazine I feel Revive does not just offer a Rock genre to it, it also offers an indie genre to it.

Evaluation-Question 1 Part 1
When creating my front cover I knew that I wanted to follow the styling's of NME magazine more than Kerrang! I think that this is noticeable when looking at my front cover. The only theory I really thought of using in my magazine was Blumler and Katz theory of surveillance in a magazine. This means that by reading the magazine fans of bands are getting an insight to what the artist or band really get up to outside of being in the music industry and I think this is shown in my article. However, it could be argued that I have used Naomi Wolfs theory of using women for beauty conventions as my model (Hannah) is centred in the picture for my front cover as obviously women look at other women on the front of magazine covers and think of how they can interpret how they look into their own style. I feel that there is also a sense of Marjorie Fergusons "invitational" theory look on my front over as when looking it I tend to focus more on the eyes of my models than anything else.
By advertising popular bands as straplines on my front cover that would obviously attract readers and to give them an insight on what was going to be in the magazine just like my style models use. By using taglines such as "Award Winning Band" it shows that I was following the conventions of my style model and trying to manipulate them into my own magazine. By using a bolder masthead like the one on Kerrang's I felt that it was giving the cover an edgier look to it and obviously I wanted to go for that look. Of course on a front cover you will typically see things like the date the issue was released, the barcode and the date which I also added onto my front cover.

Evaluation
Now that I have finished my final products i am going to evaluate my work in sections. The first question I will be answering is: "In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?"

Article Style Model
Here is my style model for my double page spread which is taken from NME. I chose this as my style model as I wanted to make something that does not look like a typical magazine double page spread. The article has a sense of quirkiness about it and the model is not being too serious which is exactly the look I wanted to go for.
Article Chosen Photos
Here are my final double page spread pictures that I have decided to use. I wanted my models to look less serious in my article and more relaxed, as if they were having fun together being in front of the camera. As they are friends outside of school this was not a hard task for them to carry out.
